Man, Jan, your night at Fairwinds looks like a dream. What I wouldn’t give to pull out a fleece on a cool evening and roast marshmallows. It’s still “fry an egg on the sidewalk” weather down here. Bleh. (Maybe it will drop to 80 by Hallowe’en.) I am with you on the rip and re-do… that brown sweater is autumn perfection! xoxo

Nupps. Aren’t they fun? Well, OK, the knitting of them isn’t always 100% fun, but the results are gorgeous!

I’m loving your sweater, too. I think you’re right to listen to your inner voice, since that’s a sweater that I bet you’ll wear a ton if it’s perfect, and will be annoyed not to be wearing if it’s not.

The hemlock ring is absolutely stunning. Really and for true. I keep wondering whether that, in laceweight, might make a shawl? Maybe I just need to knit it because I covet it…

Sounds like a great class! Too bad I’m far away.

I’m sure the highschoolers will have learned something; that’s the kind of lesson that doesn’t usually need to be repeated too often. I’m glad they didn’t do any more damage (to themselves or anyone else)!

Your spinning is beautiful. It is really, really making me wish I’d finished my wool prep already.

That is an impressive exploded eggplant. I did that to a potato once - the strangest part was opening the oven and wondering where the potato had gone, since I had exploded into a million tiny pieces all over the inside of the oven.

I love the hemlock ring. I don’t knit afghans (they have a history of becoming UFOs), but I do love it.

The HR is GORGEOUS…and is more impetus for me to cast on. I have the yarn picked out, the pattern printed out…but so many other items to get to first! Maybe this will be my big winter knitting project. We’ll see.

I do feel sorry for the egg plant. I’m sure it never knew it was coming.
