Hey, Jan,
I suppose you are in the air on your way to Europe right now, or will be soon. I hope you sleep a little on the flight, even if it is prime knitting time.
This weekend was not exactly prime knitting time, but I found it extremely satisfying nonetheless. We got a heat wave to start November, hitting 64F on Saturday and though a bit cloudy today, it was close to that warm again. That meant even the most talented yardwork procrastinators (I’m married to one and so is Wilson) got a chance to make up for past failings and get some outside tasks done. Who’d a thunk that getting a few shelves in the garage cleaned out and clearing out a garden bed or two would make me feel like I have control of my life again? It was surprisingly satisfying. As fun as this knitting stuff is, I really have to get out more, it seems.
I’m sure the dyer at Enchanted Meadows was equally surprised and satisfied when they pulled this wool/mohair blend out of their bright yellow dye bath. The white wool in the same pot was clear yellow; the gray blend became this wonderful, mysterious electric gray-green. You will not be surprised to hear that it came home with me; I, however, am quite satisfied.
Love,
Ellen

It feels so good to just get things /done/ sometimes. And a “heatwave” is definitely the time to do it. (I’m laughing a little bit at the idea of a 64F heatwave. The rest of me is groaning, realizing how soon that will seem warm!)
I love the grey highlights in the mohair blend! I’m not usually a yellow person, but I’ll take grey with almost anything. Looks beautiful!

I am crazy about that yarn, what will you make with it?
I am entering a seriously mustard/gold/grey-yellow phase. Which is sort of tough, those colors look awful on me!

Ooh, that is some scumptious yarn. I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat! Congratulations on getting some outdoor work done — you’ve earned yourself some knitting time

What will you make with such delicious yarn? Something wonderful, no doubt.

I know that feeling of how clearing out some of the physical clutter can make the mental clutter feel less daunting! Thanks for reminding me…I have some things in serious need of declutter. Congratulations on getting some of your life in check.
The yarn is spectacular…I’d pair it with some purple color I think.
