My wheel is a Louet. Alli (or Alli McWheel) could be a nickname for Allouette. But a lovelier interpretation would be the French translation of allouette - skylark.
Because Jenny already owns the prize I was going to send, I am sending her something else. This leaves the other prize up for grabs. It will go to the person who posts comment number 2000 (not counting any comments Jan or I leave from now until we hit it). It could come quickly, so say “hi! right away!
Said prize, by the way, is a copy of Wendy J Johnson and Susanna Hansson’s Radiant Knits booklet, which has wonderful photos and great content about Bohus knitting.
Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!
Ellen
Jan and Ellen are identical twins who have always had an innate fashion sense. Crafting is an integral part of their lives and they stay stitched together sharing their love of knitting, family and community.

Ellen, I hope you love the wheel and have many happy hours tredling away.
I already have the booklet, so if I happen to be #2000 please give it to someone deserving of your generosity, for me. I really just wanted to come over and say hello. I really enjoyed reading the blog and was genuinely happy to see you enjoyed the class with Lucy Neatby. Cheers for now. BB

Looks like a good book.

I’ve never tried Bohus knitting, but it’s so pretty.

I’d love to win that booklet!

Hello, I’m glad you got the wheel, now you can spin your own ‘bohus’ fiber. There’s something so comforting about sitting and spinning, just watching the fiber flow through your fingers and making the movements to keep the wheel going.

My wheel is also a Louet…happy spinning!

So that’s what the allouette song is about! I knew it was a bird, but… “Je te plumerai” can now be about plum-colored fiber. A great improvement.

Love your Forest Darkness Bohus and looking forward to seeing the Rime Frost, too. Last Sunday I took the Bohus class with Susanna Hansson. It was so much fun getting to see the original garments she brought with her.

I should check out blogs instead of Ravelry more often
My wheels are called Martha and Agatha. I rather think I like yours more though! I need to do some more spinning, but I was rather distracted with my Bohus hat

Okay, Ellen…I sure hope you plan on being the one to keep track of our comments to delete them from the tally! Just to be clear…did you mean from here on out, or ever? If the latter, it may be a LONG time to reach 2,000! (I think you meant the former…and then it will be soon!)

2,000? Who’s going to count those up?
I think I need that booklet, since it would look nice next to my Poems of Color book (and I could nestle it somewhere near my Green Meadow tam/mittens kits).
Should I hold my breath?

Love you blogsite . . . will have to stay and visit awhile!

This book looks wonderful. In all my years of living in a French community I never bothered to realize that an Alouette is a skylark. Thanks for expanding my translation skill set.

Ooh! Ooh! I hope I win!

Delurking (again) to comment. You are probably spinning away on Skylark
(boy, was I wrong on my Skylark guess).
I have the Radiant Knits Book but if I win I would love for you to convince Solveig to make up a Green Wood kit (on pg 11) for my prize. I’ll pay for the kit, you just do the convincing!!!
