Dear Jan,

The kiddens enjoyed this last weekend a great deal more than I did. They played in some new boxes, and Poison helped me lay out my Rimfrost for a progress shot. (Yes, there really is progress. Hours of it, by which I mean maybe 3/4 of an inch.)

They both looked out at all the beautiful snow we have in the backyard, snow I haven’t gotten to enjoy because this dang cold hung on pretty hard over the weekend. Now that I am back to work it feels like it is letting go of its grip. I credit the nice neckwarmer I wore most of the weekend.

Ah, well, with a lay-about-in-bed weekend comes a fair amount of fiber play. Haselnuss got a lot further along (plus a few inches since this photo was taken) and another bobbin of merino/silk got spun when I dragged myself out of bed for a bit.
I guess I have to admit I really kind of enjoyed myself (when I wasn’t coughing up my lungs). Maybe next weekend I can enjoy knitting after coming in from some snowplay. It’s not like the Minnesota winter is anywhere near over, after all.
Love,
Ellen

Boxes and kiddens and rimfrost, oh my! Your house looks like great fun.

I’m glad you’re starting to feel better — and I do hope you get to play in the snow soon. We’ve not had any real snow storms yet, but I have a feeling they’re coming.
I love the blue of the merino/silk — just what is needed on a gray wintry day.
Tell the kiddens that I have many boxes in which they could play.

I surely hope you’re feeling better now! Sweet kittens in boxes. What fun…
(((hugs)))

I’m sorry you’ve been sick! Your neckwarmer looks like he took his responsibilities seriously, though - I’m glad it’s working

I think kittens always enjoy life more than we do. A cat with a box is hard to compete with, really.
I’m glad there were some upsides to your yucky weekend! And I am absolutely, positively certain that there will be more winter waiting for you when you’re well (-9 here tomorrow night, wind chill -30, or so I hear…brr!). A good neckwarmer is an indispensable thing.
