Dear Ellen,
I have yarn!! And lots of it — 545 yards of beautiful bluefaced
leister spun on my Jenkins Meadowlark turkish spindle from 4 ounces hand painted in the Rivendell colorway by Kimber of Kimber Baldwin Designs. Last night I skeined it as you recommended, soaked it in some Soak, gave it a dozen whacks and hung it out to dry. By the time I got home from work it was
dry and fluffy and gorgeous. I fondled it for a bit and then I amazed Dale by twisting it up into a very professional looking skein. I can’t wait to cast on!
Love, Jan

Do you realize how many spinners hate you just a little bit right now? This is not what first yarn is supposed to look like. Not one bit. It is not supposed to be gorgeous and even and remotely look like something one would want to knit with.
You really should apologize.

Let me guess…. you came out of the womb walking - forget this business of creeping, crawling, and bobbling - no not you!!
It truly is gorgeous - and it is plied too!!! You really do set the bar for us beginners who are also struggling with getting nice singles on their spindles…
I may need to ‘unfriend’ you on fb

Ellen’s right - you’re going to give the rest of us an inferiority complex. It’s gorgeous!! And boy, are you going to love knitting with it

It’s beautiful! And I’m laughing at what Ellen started going there. I’m the third of four sisters, I could just hear mine doing that, all with an impish grin. Too funny!

It is beautiful! Love the colors, and it looks like great yarn. Yay for knitting with your own handspun!

Utterly beautiful…wasn’t Rivendell a SS09 colorway? Seems to be, if my memory serves (like it does that, ever?)
Congrats on your first yarn!
(((hugs)))
