Hi Ellen!
A very quick post to show evidence of KIP’ing in Colorado Springs. A group met up at Bancroft park in Old Colorado City and we had a most enjoyable time. The weather was spectacular and we were right next to the farmer’s market, so that was fun too.
I got to know some of the area knitters, got some good leads on other groups that meet in the evening or weekends and some leads on a few UU churches. All in all a good time and good fun. You can see a bit of the EZ Baby Surprise that I’m working on the corner of the more vertical of the pictures. I think I may be screwing something up, but I’ll press on to the end and then decide if I need to go back. I’m pretty sure I followed EZ’s directions well, but the diagonal on the front panels isn’t a continuous line. Is the disjunction right?
Love, Jan

It looks like a fun bunch, and what a perfect way to connect to other groups. I went to a WKIP event yesterday and found another avid knit blogger who lives just down the road.
You’re looking for UU churches? Or was that for my & Karen’s benefit when we come visit?
Finally - BSJ - If you fold the sweater on the long axis of the cast on, the two diagonals will fall on top of each other. They are both straight lines. The second one stops at the point where you knit back and forth on the central stitches. You then create a third diagonal at the corners of that band you just created - essentially, mitering the corner of the front band. It is a little hard to see, but if you look at the last picture in my Ravelry project for this, you can see the “break” in the second diagonal. That picture is just a row or two into the 3rd diagonal, so that isn’t too obvious. The 3rd pic from the bottom also shows the same point from a different angle.

It was a fun day! I found a great BSJ cheat-sheet that lists instructions row-by-row, made by Kenny (Boy Who Knits). I usually start a BSJ before every plane trip, since I can knit it with bamboo needles. Here is the link:

And here is the link to High Plains Church (home of Academy Mini Golf)

And finally, Table Rock Llama Lovers group on Ravelry:

Gee, I hope it’s not a faux pas to put all these links in the comments. At least I didn’t squeal, “I’m first!”

I see where I am now…the button band. And it is offset. Thanks for the referral to your ravelry project…that’s where I could see where I was.

You may have found the perfect church for us if it combines mini-golf and UU’ism. Tell me more!
And Blondi, I was looking for that cheat sheet. I’d heard rumors of it!

I’ve joined the Table Rock group so we should be on the verge of the 50 members we need to get the discount.
Dale and I didn’t make any church this week. I expect we’ll be better once we’re in the house.
Thanks for the link to the cheat sheet…that would have been VERY handy. I’ll use it next time.
